| T & T Trucking was founded in 1956 in the town of Lodi, California
(population 35,000) located 30 miles south of Sacramento, and 90 miles east of San
Francisco in the fertile San Joaquin Valley by two humble men, Rudy Tarditi and Clarence
Taylor. They started with two flatbed trucks hauling hay. Rudy handled the
administration and Clarence oversaw operations - and both drove the trucks!
Times were tough until 1960 when T & T Trucking started hauling sand - not from the
beach, but from foothill mines full of silica sand used for making glass. Business
got a little better and they decided to incorporate in March 1965. Clarence Taylor
well into his 80's has since retired, and founder Rudy Tarditi is watching, proudly from
heaven above, his son Terry continue his legacy operating one of the most respected and
service oriented bulk trucking companies on the West Coast. We will be celebrating our 52nd ANNIVERSARY in
March of 2008 hauling bulk raw commodities for the glass and glass container industry
(silica sand, limestone and soda ash), cullet (for glass remanufacturing), roofing
granules, and agricultural fertilizers (both dry and liquid) among many other commodities.
Working with the construction industry we innovated the capability of "blowing"
sand with our pneumatic trailers for road culverts drastically reducing man-hour
costs.
With our blue and white fleet of over 150 trucks and 200 trailers,
including gravity doubles, pneumatic doubles, semi's, and transfers, T & T Trucking
serves customers in the seven (7) western states with revenues exceeding 32 million
dollars annually. We also have a J&L Semi-Vacuum trailer for such applications as cleaning out
contaminated storage sites, accident spills, transfer from one trailer to another, or
vacuum from the site to deliver or dispose of - both wet and dry - ON
CALL 24-HOURS DAILY.
Our corporate office and main terminal is located in Lodi, California
with over 10-acres of facilities and truck parking. Walnut and cherry orchards, as
well as vineyards, as far as the eye can see, surround us. Our Bakersfield,
California terminal, which is over 4-acres, was purchased in 1994 to accommodate our
customers in the southwestern part of the United States. Our truck and trailer
maintenance and fueling facilities at both locations are exceptional and modern, with
computer driven maintenance programs which enhance our "on-time, no-excuse"
deliveries, well known through out the bulk transportation industry.
Every one of our nearly 200 employees and independent contractors remain
firmly committed to the concept of CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Making every effort to not only earn
your business, but to fully and completely satisfy your bulk transportation needs today as
well into the future, is not only our hallmark, but our PROMISE!
RECOGNITION: DID YOU KNOW...We
play a vital role in your everyday life! The next time you drink a cold bottle of
beer, Snapple soda, frappacino or Starbucks iced coffee, have a glass of wine, look
outside your car window, open your shower door, or watch your children play outside from
inside your house, note that we hauled the raw commodities necessary to make glass
happen. DID YOU KNOW...When given a choice of beer or soda served in glass bottles
or aluminum cans over 95% of consumers chose glass! When have you EVER seen a
premium beer commercial using aluminum cans or plastic bottles! DID YOU KNOW...That
glass, discovered centuries ago, having the purest of earth's minerals, imparts no taste
or alters any liquid from which it is served, from clinical laboratory test tubes to
Budweiser beer. It can even be made in your garage with three simple ingredients,
(silica sand, soda ash and limestone), and will last a lifetime. Despite all of man's
technological advances in science, NOTHING has been discovered to replace it!
TRIVIA: DID YOU KNOW...That
A&W Rootbeer was founded here in Lodi in 1919 by Roy Allen who got a recipe for
rootbeer (the first ever) from a local pharmacist and sold it for a nickel a glass.
He later recruited a partner, Frank Wright, and A&W Rootbeer thus became a worldwide
trademark. Today, owned by YUM BRANDS, which include KFC and Taco Bell there are
over 700 outlets in 15 countries and 545 distribution points in the United States.
That first A&W rootbeer stand is still located in downtown Lodi.
TRIVIA: DID YOU KNOW...That Lodi
is the largest wine grape growing region in the United States, larger than the famous Napa
and Sonoma counties combined, producing over 627,000 tons of grapes and 39 million bottles
of wine annually, making it the "Wine grape capital of the world".
TRIVIA: DID YOU KNOW...San
Joaquin valley grows 70% of the world's fresh asparagus, and 80% of the world's navel
oranges.
TRIVIA: DID YOU KNOW...The 70's
music group Creedence Clearwater Revival's famous song, "Stuck in Lodi again"
lyrics were written when their road bus broke down along the highway in Lodi on their way
to a concert in Reno, Nevada and they had to spend the night in a local motel. They never
came back! The background music you are listening to on some of these pages is
"Stuck in Lodi again". The other tune you may hear is the theme to
"Home Alone".
We sincerely encourage and welcome your visit with us at our
headquarters in Lodi to meet our friendly staff and see the resources we have to offer.
